Victoria Beckham's collection - NYFW SS12
I wanted to add a post as I have just seen Victoria Beckhams new collection at NYFW and was impressed that it had moved on leaps and bounds from the Roland Mouret esq pencil dresses of past seasons . Using interesting fabrics, kooky accessories and FLAT shoes - VB keeps her signature grown up 'lady' style but progresses into much cooler territory. See below a few of my fave looks:

Beg, borrow or steal jeans!
I wanted to post to tell you about a new pair of jean I got this week - BBS jeans - Beg, borrow or steal. The are a mid APC ish blue and such a flattering shape. The denim clings to your legs and won't become mis shapen over the day. They are like wearing a premium brand but for as little as £55. They come in a range of colours including a very current red! The skinny shape I have is called the Carrie! I would recommend them to anyone - great jeans at a fraction of the price of some other premium labels. And very comfy! http://www.bbsjeans.com
New AW Wardrobe
So it's that time of year again when the evenings are drawing in and the rain starts to beat down from the skies and you realise that you suddenly have NOTHING to wear. Now I'm sure this isn't just weather related but to do with the changing of the seasons. There are so many new colours, fabrics, shapes, cuts, styles that you suddenly need! Here are some pics of my key updates to obtain the perfect new winter wardrobe:
Isabel Marant fringed boots are THE boot of the season.
Burgunday is the perfect AW11 colour.
It is the season of the jumper - this one from Stella McCartney is beautiful!
The luxe parka is a huge trend for AW11 and will keep you very warm!

The dandy velvet slipper is a take on the androgony trend - this one is by Penelope Chilvers and can be embroidered with your initials to personalise
Acne Jeans
One of the most interesting things about fashion in general is that it can be both restricting and free. For many people – particularly those who consider themselves to be amateurs when it comes to high end fashion – the so-called “rules” of the fashion world can seem a bit limiting and oppressive, as if people are telling you what to wear at all times. However, for others – such as those who feel confident experimenting with fashion, and particularly those who design and assemble designer outfits – fashion can be an ever-evolving outlet for creativity. This is why it is important not to lock yourself into basic stereotypes or assumptions when considering fashion; the industry is more about creativity and adaptation than it is about expense and brand name.
For example, consider the clothing options of the Acne jeans company. Acne is a relatively new, and still relatively little-known clothing design company based in Sweden that offers a variety of very stylish options for men and women. However, the collections at Acne are not all about five hundred pound jeans or styles so abstract that it seems only celebrities could pull off wearing them in public. Acne is primarily about providing high quality and affordable jeans with a certain intangible but appealing quality, but which are not over the top.
In addition to its trademark jeans, Acne also offers a range of other fashionable options. For men, there are other types of trousers, as well as a variety of shirts available, and for women there is a selection of everything from boots to jackets. While the company began as a manufacturer and provider of jeans, it is important not to assume that jeans are their limit. Many of the other offerings from Acne are equally stylish, with the same simple, tough to define high quality.
Acne is just one of the many designers you may want to keep your eye on if you are considering the creative, varied side of fashion. Do not assume that everything you see models wearing on the runway costs loads of money and belongs to some designer you have never heard of. Sometimes, the most appealing fashion options can be right in front of you. In fact, more and more frequently, designers are able to bring their customers very high quality products at prices that the average consumer can afford. Keeping an open and creative mind can lead you to some of these designers.

Penelope Chilvers
I had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Penelope Chilvers at her show room in London's Notting Hill. Her boots and shoes are beautifully handmade in Spain and come complete with a gorgeous fabric dust bag. My favourites were the snakeskin Chelsea boot's for next season and loved the velvet slippers in Camel. Penny (PC) showed me some leather for next season embossed with tiny gold stars - that she is planning to make espadrilles from. I would highly recommend a visit to her site - also for any bigger footed amazonian ladies she is brilliant.

I have launched the first cross-twitter styling and personal shopping service . I have some great brand affiliations so far including my-wardrobe: Acne, Vanessa Bruno, Joseph, mulberry, www.oki-ni.com and some high street ones too like Debenhams, French Connection and House of Fraser. I will be styling both men's and womenswear.My idea is for people to come to www.twitter.com/tweetstyling to ask me for style advice, give me their budget, sizing, event or reason for new clothing and a picture of themselves. It is free of charge. I will then tweet back links to outfits which they can then buy from and offer them styling advice. Vanessa G catwalk event
It was a starry starry turn out at the Vanessa G show last night - with a celeb packed front row waiting in anticipation. Vanessa Goudens idea behind the label is to display the art of unsung artists on clothing, using photographic prints and weaving fabrics to create images. Slightly Erdemish graphic printed giant florals shimmied past, Jordan Dunn looked HOT. The great arches of The Banqueting House were filled with rich colours and spring like tapestries.
Browns and the little doll party
I was mooching around in Browns on South Molton Street www.brownsfashion.com on an appointment for the Guardian when I came across these little guys. I am a bit obsessed with aztec prints atm and they were just hanging out having a little party. They smelt of lavender and were wearing the sweetest outfits including stripey jumpers and what looked like a Missoni dress.
Urban Ears
The lovely people at Urban Ears have sent me a stack of amazing colour headphones. Not only are they gorge colours and packaging but they are amazing quality. I am listening to my Ipad right now and they are mega loud and great sound quality. They even come with a free Urbanears heart window sticker. Check out the site www.urbanears.com
LFW AW11
I shall be doing a photo diary of my looks each day at LFW - which have been kindly provided by the designer floor at Urban Outfitters. Starting Friday. I shall also be writing a little roundup of my favourite shows and generally reporting about fabulous things. Check. It. Out! xx
