I met this Champage coloured cat on a shoot the other day and I fell in love with her - she matched my camel jumper perfectly!!
Uber chic French label - The Kooples - are opening their stores on UK soil at the end of November. This is some of the beautiful stuff available:
I can barely contain my excitement - my Swatch is arriving tomorrow. Having been a fan since the age of 9 I am mega excited about the updated versions of the new Swatches. Here is a pic from Fashion Press Week:
Boy am I glad to see my favorite trend from AW10 continue into the new season - minimalism. And two of the founders of minimalism did what they do best: Chloe and Celine SS11
Having worked for Vanessa Bruno in Paris - I am delighted to see she is opening her first stand alone store in Grafton St, W1 this month. I am loving the new collection and I am obsessed by her current muse Lou Doillon - watch this beautiful fashion film below:
I heart this trainer stack I saw at the Karla Otto press day. There is something about a bad taste trainer that just does it for me!
I always love the Urban Outfitters press day - everything is so well laid out and styled up into themes. I also love the mix of younger designers with the more high end along with kooky cool accessories. I particularly heart the mint green lomo camera - see below - its ace!!
I visited the Jaeger press day yesterday - which was a large affair on the second floor of their Regents Street store. It was also the launch of Jaeger London's cool younger sister brand - Jaeger Boutique. A much younger target market - aimed at the 20 something girl - it featured some bang on trend pieces. Leather shorts, star print dresses, sequinned knits, jumpsuits and a gorge faux fur coat were amongst the best. It is a punky, coquetish girl - the daughter of a rock star maybe, who would wear this collection. I also found close to my perfect shearling flying jacket, as you know I'm on a quest for one, and some amaze sheepskin lined ankle boots from Jaeger London.
Lovely Patrick at Village Press invited me down to a sample gifting day at YMC. Being one of my favourite labels I was very excited. The AW10 mens collection was there, looking fabulous. I chose a pyjama inspired suit - shirt and pants - its very Alexa! I also chose a lovely nautical inspired knit for the boy!
From Monday I will be putting an outfit of the week up on my blog - encompasing the Spring Summer trends. The first one will be nude inspired. See you Monday xx
I was lucky enough to style Groove Armada for Jonathan Ross the other day - it was great to go to the green room and hang out at the BBC. Check out the vid of their performance featuring Will Young. Check it out here by clicking on the video
I will also be styling Laura Marling for the Guardian Festival special - super excited as she is literally my FAVE
I am in love with Temperley's new diffusion line Alice by Temperley. Launched at the same time as Alice in Wonderland the collection features a clash of tiger prints, stripes, frills and spots. It is like Temperley's eccentric, bohemian younger sister - more likely to head off to a festival than an Ibiza ball. Sending out a blue Tiger print scarf to celebs, editors and stylist's alike (including me!) was a clever marketing strategy by Alice - it got the fashion world buzzing.
Having been to LFW AW10 and starting to work on projects/press days I am already thinking about next seasons trends and wardrobe. Without doubt one of the best shows at LFW for next season was Burberry - with its luxuriously thick shearling aviation jackets. I now have a vision in my head for my wardrobe next season - all maxi dresses and flying jackets! Unless I get a mega payrise I won't be buying Burberry anytime soon. But with my new Liberty discount card maybe Acne's version - can you tell I'm a little obsessed by Acne!
Here is a pic of my new dress, I am obsessed with it. It combines the Breton stripe with long sleeves and a gorgeous cut. It retails at only £110 which is pretty good for a maxi. You can find it at www.brownsfashion.com
In my lovely goody bag from Brown's press day - there was a sweet knitted wool bracelet and an envelope introducing me to www.woolandthegang.com. It is so super cool, I had to write about it. You order the below kit and you can make yummy things like Baby Alpaca sweaters and Sheep hand warmers. Know what I want for my birthday! Like the WI but cool!
Ok, I officially have a new fashion crush! Check out www.mixmatchme.com You know when you were a little girl and you use to play dress up with your Barbie's! Well this is lifesize and for adults! Mix and match shoes, bags, jewellery, accessorise outfits, create looks and then add them to the basket and check out. It is simple, slick and down right cool. More cool brands will be joining the Mix Match Me family in the new year, so keep checking it out!! xx
LFW SS10 has just finished, and my was it a fine one. At it's new regal setting of Somerset house and with the come back of some big British names, it had an air of new excitement about it. Burberry Prosum, Matthew Williamson and Antonio Berardi were among the big names to return to our humble shores for next season. The parties weren't bad either! Dancing next to Vivienne Westwood, Pam Hogg and Kate Moss, whilst listening to Bryan Ferry play Jimmy Hendrix live, at the Topshop Party was pretty legend heavy! Swapping shopping tips with Alexa Chung (my girl crush) and queing with Alison Mosshart (another girl crush) were all part of the fun that is LFW. I am proud to be a Londoner and to see such great designers emerge from this City. London, I <3 U! Images to follow...
So Haviana's - the Brazilian brand that has changed the face of flip flops forever are offering a customisation service at Selfridge's department store now. You can design your own flip flops by adorning them with Swarowski crystals, charms and even real diamonds!!! I will be hotfooting it down there later today and will post a pic of my customised pair soon.
One of my favourite shows of the last few years was at LFW SS09 - Charles Anastase. The styling was amazing and the clothes were uber cool.
